Course Title: Chief Executives: Your Role in Civil Protection

Who Should Attend

This course is for local authority Chief Executives. Whilst Deputy Chief Executives and Senior Officers are welcome to attend, you are only eligible for this course once your Principal has already attended.

Aim

To explore chief officer’s responsibilities in civil protection.

Objectives

By the end of this event you will be able to:

Identify the civil protection duties of a Local Authority and the role of the Chief Executive and Chief Officers.
Explain the relationship between local responders and the regional and national tiers in emergency management
Analyse the key strategic issues arising from an emergency, with specific reference to the work of the Strategic Co-ordinating Group (SCG).
