Academic Qualifications: in Partnership with the University of Leeds

City and Guilds Senior Awards Licentiateship (LCGI) –Integrated Emergency Management

Introduction

The University of Leeds has Delegated Authority from the City and Guilds’ Institute to offer Senior Awards which are designed for people working in industrial, business and professional environments. The WBL Unit has, over many years, successfully used the LCGI as a foundation for progression to higher academic levels such as the WBL Postgraduate Certificate. The Licentiateship is now being offered through supported learning; this will allow greater flexibility, as students will not have to take time out of the workplace to attend taught sessions.

Entry Requirements
Assessment:

Teaching methods are student-focussed, and centre on learning activities and participation of the full student group via distance learning, which includes the use of the University’s virtual learning environment. Structured distance learning support from the WBL Unit will be available throughout the programme.

Several groups of students have already undertaken the Licentiateship, and their evaluations demonstrate that they are enjoying and benefiting from the experience.
