The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is the lead Government department for coordinating the response to a significant disruption to supply or demand patterns in the downstream oil sector in the United Kingdom. As part of the wider programme of work conducted by the Government in building resilience to disruptive challenges UK Resilience, the DTI has been working with key stakeholders in the design and enhancement of the Downstream Oil Emergency Response Plan. This plan is intended to sit alongside other contingency plans already published.
