Developing the detailed plans, guiding the customer through implementing a Common Infrastructure solution and implementing the EDT components of the service.
You will be responsible for programme management of your implementation, and the integration of your systems into the CI service you have selected. EDT will provide project support and technical advice to ensure that your implementation is achieved to plan.
A key aspect of the initial implementation stage is to ensure that your business fully understands what the chosen service does, how it works, and to revalidate the anticpated benefits of using it. This will help to increase confidence in your original business plan and allow an opportunity to revise plans before it is too late, or additional cost is incurred.
Once your solution has been identified and a high level design produced we will continue to work with your teams to develop a detailed design to meet your requirements.
Migration planning covers the activities we go through to help you migrate from existing on line solutions to EDT's common infrastructure. We will ensure that there is considerable emphasis on ensuring the implications of this migration are fully understood and that any appropriate redesign or data migration activities have been considered.
The activities involved in building your solution will depend on the service(s) selected. All tasks required for Common Infrastructure services will be undertaken by EDT and/or our suppliers, and these will be detailed in a joint project plan. There may be inter-dependencies between our tasks and tasks required to be performed on your own systems by your technical team.
Through engagement with customers EDT will ensure the necessary acceptance criteria is understood. This process will ensure that all parties understand the business logic and readiness of their system and agree to accept it before live service commences.
