Stakeholders
The stakeholder community for IATP is vast and complex. In SR04 the emphasis was predominately on the High Threat community, as the Programme heads towards CSR07 the scope of the Programme will expand. This will have an impact on the numbers of Government Departments involved with the Programme and the relationship that is needed with Industry. It will become more important for IATP to deliver sound communication, marketing and effective stakeholder engagement. In terms of assistance to Programme delivery, stakeholder engagement will help provide the following:
- A Reality Check – using stakeholders as a sounding board ensuring that our objectives and outputs truly reflect the interest of the communities we are delivering to, ensuring that we obtain buy–in and valuable feedback and aresure that our stakeholders realise the Programme's benefits.
- Reputation – vital to the programme's reputation is our ability to maintain good relationships with our stakeholders and build stronger relationships with the most influential organisations and individuals within those organisations.
- Delivery – the more organisations we engage with the wider our circle of stakeholders who will want to work with us, delivering with and through others is key to IATP meeting it's overall objectives.
- Influence – engagement with stakeholders will increase the impact and influence of the Programme across Government and Industry, growing the numbers of stakeholders involved in the Information Assurance (IA) arena.
The Programme's aim in engaging with it's Stakeholders is to:
- Encouraging feedback to ensure 2 way communication Involving Stakeholders in decisions where appropriate.
- Promoting awareness of and where necessary commitment to the Programme and it's objectives Demonstrating a commitment to meeting the stakeholders needs.
- Identifying and communicating quick wins wherever possible.
- Communicating the right messages, in a clear, relevant and recognisable form, to the right audience, at the right time, via the most suitable media.
- Gaining additional funding and support to enable the Programme to move forward beyond SR04.
