The IA Technical Programme (IATP)[External website] was established under the auspices of CSIA in 2004 with the joint mandate of creating a sustainable, sovereign IA sector and enabling UK Government to use the latest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) securely to support its business.
As a result of the Data Handling Review the decision was taken to deliver IATP through CESG, the National Technical Authority, in partnership with Industry. IATP focuses on delivery on high-grade requirements whilst the Intelligent Customer Mechanism (ICM) focuses on 'common good' IA capability for Government.
