CMAS will be well known to many current holders of the Charter Mark. The Cabinet Office originally appointed us in 2000 to manage the administration of Charter Mark assessments. We supported almost 2000 organisations through successul assessment to the status of Charter Mark winners.
We look forward to using our years of experience to help many more organisations achieve real business benefits through engagement in the Charter Mark process.
Our aim is to make achieving the Charter Mark standard as simple and cost effective as possible. Instead of a 'one size fits all' assessment process, we will offer a range of options tailored to fit applicants. These will vary dependent on their size, structure and level of engagement with the process. We can support organisations in a number of ways:
On-line Assessment We provide a FREE on-line applicant assessment tool, which can be used in conjunction with the tool on the Cabinet Office web site, or independently.
The tool will enable organisations to:
The online assessment toll is designed to be simple and efficient for applicants to use. Our experienced team is also on hand to provide support and advice on 0845 3005172.
The tool can be accessed via our website at www.cmadmin.co.uk [External website]
We will support organisations through the pre-assessment process, using our Applicant Assessment Tool. When this has been completed it forms the basis of the application, which means no more compiling boxes of paper evidence. Our website contains a detailed breakdown of each element of the six new criteria together with examples of evidence required to demonstrate compliance.
Once the applicant has completed the assessment toll, they can submit a formal application to us. At this point, the application is 'locked' for review by the appointed assessor.
It is only upon formal submission of an application that an organisation enters into a commitment with CMAS. We will agree a fee for the on-site assessment and issue a formal contract. Prior to that, the use of the Applicant Assessment Tool, and the support from our team is totally free and without obligation.
On-site Assessment When organisations are ready to be formally assessed against the criteria, we will arrange a visit from one of our assessment team. Our assessors will have considerable experience in the Charter Mark process – many will have been involved since its inception in 1992. All will have undergone rigorous training by both the Cabinet Office and by CMAS.
The length of the assessment process will vary depending on the size of the applicant organisation, which, in most cases should be no more than three days. In most cases a single day's visit will be all that is required. As the pre-assessment process is free, and the applicant pays on for the site assessment element, we are confident that most applicants will pay less in 2004 than they would have done in 2001.
Corporate Applications We have extensive experience in assessing large, complex organisations. CMAS will appoint a dedicated Project Team that will assume responsibility for the corporate assessment process.
We will tailor make an assessment model for the organisation, focusing on co-ordinating assessment activity to provide cost savings for the applicant.
