Diversity initiatives

The Cabinet Office currently has a number of internal initiatives aimed at encouraging everyone to achieve richer and more rewarding careers within the Department. Some examples of these initiatives can be seen below:

Trading Perspectives – A reverse mentoring scheme whereby junior members of staff from under-represented groups mentor senior civil servants. Providing them with an opportunity to explore and understand different experiences.

Leaders UnLtd – Jointly developed by the Cabinet Office and the National School for Government to provide tailored development and support to talented individuals who are either women, have a disability or are from a minority ethnic background.

Shadow Board – A development tool for talented middle managers providing them with an opportunity to experience senior collective decision making.

Senior Civil Servant Diversity Team – A group of senior managers that report directly to Cabinet Office's Executive Management Group, providing support and challenge on Diversity issues throughout the Cabinet Office.
