Climate Change is arguably one of the greatest challenges yet faced by mankind and it is vital that we all take action to reduce our carbon emissions. The Government's Low Carbon Transition Plan published on the 15th of July 2009, committed all central government departments to set out the measures which they would undertake to adapt their policies and operations to cope with the risks and opportunities presented by climate change.
The Cabinet Office’s first Climate Change Strategy, will be published on the 26th March and includes the input of many colleagues across the department. The report is in two parts. The first deals with the measures which the department is undertaking to adapt to future climate change. The second looks at how we intend to mitigate the departments’ carbon emissions to ensure that we have as little impact as possible on future generations.
