| As part of an ongoing series of festival development and capacity-building work, the British Council supported two UK artists, Ty and Pen Pastwn, to visit Sudan to perform and collaborate with local artists in Khartoum and Port Sudan during February. The festival in Port Sudan was the first music event there of its kind for over 30 years. |
| Three musicians from India and the UK came together in a musical collaboration to explore the synergy in folk music across borders. Curated and organised by the British Council in association with Folktronic, Troikala will see the musicians working together from December 2011 until May 2012 to produce an album and a concert tour. |
