The BFA is the Trade Association representing UK based suppliers of footwear - manufacturers, importers and designers - and in one form or another has supported the footwear industry for over 100 years - changing during that time to accommodate the changes in the industry.

Footwear is an important sector in the country with around £6bn of footwear sold to UK consumers and another half a billion pounds exported around the world.

Today some 9000 people are directly employed in UK Companies. We are also home to some of the world's leading footwear brands and the most highly regarded innovative designers. Premium level menswear is still produced in over 20 factories, the majority of it exported across the world. There is a constant supply of award winning designers emerging from our design colleges and who, often with BFA help, have gained international reputations for creativity combined with commerciality.

Equally, our importers have pioneered the sourcing of product for the British High Street from an ever-changing number of countries, many in the Far East.

The BFA is proud to represent over 100 key members of this industry who cover all sectors of the trade.
