Pretoria Pit Centenary Commemoration

21 Dec 1910, 344 men and boys lost their lives in what is known to be the third
largest mining disaster in history. This year there will be a series of events in commemoration of the disaster.Full programme of Pretoria Centenary events.

20 November to 23 January @Bolton MuseumRoger Hampson is an important local artist who painted 20th century urban scenes from Bolton and the region. The exhibition coincides with the opening of the new Bolton Lives Gallery.
