This publication sets out how we are implementing the Coalition Agreement commitments and how, over the course of this Parliament, we will reduce the quantity and improve the quality of domestic regulation and regulation that comes from the European Union. It is designed to help policy-makers, including lawyers and economists, understand and respond not only to the challenges, but also to the opportunities our new approach will bring. It should enable all of us in government to have a clearer focus on developing and implementing policies that really work. By doing so, we can all help ensure that unnecessary and over-costly regulation becomes a thing of the past.
