calendar

NMO and TSI are pleased to be hosting the Metrology Seminar 2012.

NMO, TSI  and Regulatory Support Unit, Local Government Group are pleased to be hosting the Metrology Seminar 2012.

The seminar, which is held for trading standards officers will take place on Tuesday 7 February 2012 at Austin Court in Birmingham.

This established event, now in its 9th year has become a valuable networking opportunity for trading standards departments throughout the UK. The event provides updates from those organisations involved in running the seminar and provides opportunities for plenty of lively discussion. Each year a guest speaker is also invited to participate.

This important event covers one of the Priority Regulatory Outcomes – “To support enterprise and economic growth by ensuring a fair, responsible and competitive trading environment”.

NMO will be providing crucial legislative updates to delegates, allowing plenty of time for your questions. There will be a metrology refresher group session to help you brush up your  weights and measures/peer auditing skills, run by the Local Government Metrology Group.

You will hear from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) on how measurement at NPL supports legal metrology in the UK and information on the ‘Measurement Network’ including how it could benefit your work, plus an update on Primary Authority from LBRO. There will also be a presentation from Arad Metering Services (UK) Ltd to give you a better understanding on how metering technology works “out in the field”.

Read the draft Agenda (DOC, 41 Kb) .

As in previous years, we will allocate delegate seats on a first come first served basis. We recommend you avoid disappointment by ensuring your seat well in advance as this event tends to be fully booked each year.
