Eco-design requirements for electric motors

The first stage requirements of the eco-design for electric motors (EC 640/2009) shall apply from 16 June 2011. From this date motors shall not be less efficient than the IE2 efficiency level, as defined in annex one, point 1 of the Regulation.

Eco-design requirements for external power supplies

The second stage requirements of the eco-design for external power supplies (EC 278/2009) shall apply from 27 April 2011. From this date the no load power consumption and average active efficiency of external power supplies shall comply with the limits as laid out in annex one of the Regulation.

Domestic Lighting - Market Surveillance Project

Consultation complete

The recent consultation exercise on the practical implementation and the procedures associated with the use of civil sanctions and the recovery of testing costs as laid out in the Eco-design for Energy Related Products Regulations 2010 (SI 2010 No. 2617) is now complete.

The guidance document is now published and available to download alongside the consultation report on the publications page.

Saving More Energy Through Compliance

The NMO will be supporting the international conference, organised by the International Energy Agency (IEA) implementing agreement on Efficient Electrical End-Use Equipment (4E) and in association with the Collaborative Labeling & Appliance Standards Program (CLASP).

Defra Appoint NMO
