Changes to Military OGEL: Export after Exhibition; Slovenia, Uzbekistan Changes to their Status

The Department of Trade and Industry has amended the OGEL (Military Goods: Export After Exhibition)  to allow exports of military goods after demonstrations as well as after exhibition.  Changes have also been made to the status of Slovenia and Uzbekistan.

  • Name changed to OGEL (Military Goods: Export After Exhibition or Demonstration) to reflect that the licence has been extended to allow exports after demonstration as well as after exhibition;
  • Following the adoption of an EU arms embargo Uzbekistan has been added to list of excluded destinations in Schedule 2 to the licence;
  • Slovenia has been removed from the list of excluded destinations in Schedule 2 to the licence;
  • the provisions for the export of protectively marked goods and technology has been amended.

The amended licence will come into force on 16 December 2005 and will be on the website on that day.
