Lebanon: EU Sanctions Secondary Legislation to implement EU Sanctions

1. Further to paragraph 4 of XNP Notice 18/06 of 29th September, secondary legislation to implement EU Sanctions is now in force. Details as follows,

  • The Export Control (Lebanon, etc) Order 2006, (S.I. 2006/2683) - The Order adds Lebanon to Schedule 3 of the Export of Goods, Transfer of Technology and Provision of Technical Assistance (Control) Order 2003, and to the country Schedule in the Trade in Controlled Goods (Embargoed Destinations) Order 2004. Click on the link in the right hand column to see S.I. 2006/2683.
  • The Lebanon (Technical Assistance, Financing and Financial Assistance)(Penalties and Licences) Regulations 2006 (S.I. 2006/2681) - provides national offences, penalties and licensing provisions for Council Regulation (EC) No.1412/2006, which imposed certain restrictive measures on Lebanon (as set out in paragraph 2 of XNP Notice 18/06). These statutory instruments entered into force on 11th October 2006.
