Changes to Legislation: Lebanon, etc. transhipment controls on certain torture related goods, October 2006

1. The Department of Trade and Industry has further amended The Export of Goods, Transfer of Technology and Provision of Technical Assistance (Control) Order 2003. Details as follows,

  • The Export Control (Lebanon, etc) Order 2006, (S.I. 2006/2683) - In addition to making provisions in respect of EU arms embargo on Lebanon, (see separate Notice for details), the opportunity has also been taken to correct an omission in the Export Control (Security and Para Military Goods) Order 2006, which implemented the EU Torture Regulation in the UK, by clarifying that transhipment controls on certain torture related equipment apply to all destinations. The above secondary legislation entered into force on 11th October 2006.
