Export Control Customer Satisfaction Survey 2010 - Open now for responses!

NOTICE TO EXPORTERS - 2010/05 - 1 February 2010

Background and Purpose

The Export Control Organisation (ECO) has just launched a Customer Satisfaction Survey. This is your opportunity to provide feedback on our services. Your opinions are vital to us as we continuously seek to develop as a customer focused organisation.

The survey is open for responses online via the SPIRE website from now until end March 2010.

This is the first satisfaction survey that we have issued since the launch of SPIRE and therefore it is an excellent an opportunity to give your considered feedback. The survey has been totally redeveloped to help us to get closer to understanding and listening to our customers and delivering improved levels of service.

Who should reply

Although this questionnaire is specifically targeted at those ECO customers who are SIEL (Standard Individual Export Licence) holders, we also welcome comments on other aspects of ECO’s services.

The questionnaire also provides opportunities for feedback about wider licensing issues (such as Open General Export Licences or Open Individual Licences). You can do this by completing the general comments field at the end of the survey.

How is the survey issued

The survey is being issued via our SPIRE licensing database – https://www.spire.bis.gov.uk

Existing SPIRE Users (applicants for SIELs)

If you are an existing SPIRE user and apply for SIELs, you will be able to access the survey via your SPIRE Workbasket.
You will be invited to complete the survey after making a Standard Individual Export Licence application (or batch of applications). You will only be able to answer the survey once.

Non-SPIRE Users (or customers who do not apply for SIELs via SPIRE)

If you are not a SPIRE User but would still like to complete the survey then we can email you an individual request to complete it which you will receive via SPIRE (if you provide us with your email address). Please email the Business Awareness team at: Web.comments@bis.gsi.gov.uk to request access to the survey.

Completing the survey

Please let us have your thoughts by completing all questions as indicated. Once you are ready and have answered as comprehensively as possible, you need to click the link to at the bottom of the screen to SUBMIT your response electronically via the SPIRE system.

All responses will be treated confidentially and anonymously.

Publication and Outcome of results

The results will be published on the ECO’s current website at: http://www.berr.gov.uk/exportcontrol and on the Businesslink website pages at http://www.businesslink.gov.uk

All your comments will be used to inform and develop the Export Control Organisation’s services further.
