Amended OGEL issued for Historic Vintage Military Vehicles and Artillery Pieces

NOTICES TO EXPORTERS - 2009/23 - 26 October 2009

  1. Further to its earlier Notice (2009/12) The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills will be revoking Open General Export Licence (Vintage Military Vehicles) and replacing with an amended version.

  2. The replacement amended licence, Open General Export Licence (Historic Military Vehicles and Artillery Pieces) will enter into force 1st November 2009.

  3. The amended licence has been extended to allow the export of a wider range of goods including artillery pieces and vehicles less than 50 years old where they are intended for historic re-enactment or commemorative events, private battlefield tours or private recreational purposes to all EU Member States plus Channel Islands and Norway providing they are returned to the UK within 3 calendar months.
  4. The amended licence is available at: OGEL (Historic Military Vehicles and Artillery Pieces).  

  5. As with other OGELs, exporters will need to register for the licence on SPIRE and adhere to all the terms and conditions.
