Launch of the Strategic Export Controls: Reports and Statistics Website

NOTICES TO EXPORTERS - 2009/14 - 8 June 2009

  1. As part of the Government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the operation of the UK’s strategic export controls it has, since 1997, published Annual Reports on export control, and in 2004 introduced Quarterly Reports. The reports include, by destination, statistics on licences issued and refused, median processing times for licence applications, and performance against published targets. In order to improve the usability of the data we have now launched an online searchable database of export licensing statistics.

  2. Access is via this link: Strategic Export Controls: Reports and Statistics website

  3. The website will provide users with licensing information to the same degree of detail as currently provided in the Government’s published Quarterly and Annual Reports on Strategic Export Controls but will allow users to produce bespoke reports with data published from 1 January 2008 onwards. For example, users will be able to produce reports for non-standard time periods (subject to a 30 day minimum period) and also sort data by categories of equipment for individual destinations to which that category has been licensed.
  4. Historical reports can also be accessed on this site in PDF format to view or download.

  5. There is a simple registration process for the site which will only take a few moments. Comprehensive guidance on using the site is available from the Help link at the top right hand corner of the screen.

  6. For further details of strategic export controls please contact the ECO.

This notice is for information purposes only and has no force in law. Please note that where legal advice is required exporters should make their own arrangements.
