Validation of Regulatory Alternatives

A number of alternatives to regulation (e.g. codes of conduct, standards, quality marks) may lead to a requirement or demand for independent validation through a system of approval. An example of this is certification. Please find below a link to the Impact Assessment guidance.

Where independent validation is required, you will need to consider who will carry out the validation process and also how they themselves have been assessed and regulated. The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is a body that can provide advice and assistance on setting up and regulating various independent validation processes.
