Working with Organisations and the Public

To better understand how regulation affects growth and productivity, the Better Regulation Executive (BRE) actively seeks advice from those affected by it day-to-day.

Submit your ideas for improving regulation

You can help influence policy by visiting the Better Regulation website and telling the BRE about any specific regulation that you find time-consuming and expensive to comply with.

Recent Development: Government Response to Institute of Directors (IoD) 269 Regulatory Suggestions - October 2009

Government has recently responded to 269 suggestions from members of the IoD. Individual suggestions will be posted to the better regulation website at www.betterregulation.gov.uk

BRE visits programme

Through its visits programme, the BRE talks to small firms, big businesses, charities, public sector organisations and the public. This helps it better understand what areas of regulation it needs to focus on to free up time and resources. It can then explore the best ways to simplify or remove regulation in these areas.

This work also helps the BRE gather examples of where simplified regulation is making a difference to people and organisations.

Getting involved
