Implementation

There is no easy way to introduce policies which have been produced by another organisation. Differences in culture are often subtle, but a seemingly effective document can become less meaningful when it is developed by a third party.

However, incorporating elements from existing standards or from another organisation is still by far the best route for producing a policy. Basic structure is likely to be common, but adjustments will always be required to meet the needs of your own environment.

Another consideration is that policies cannot exist in isolation. They should support an action-oriented strategy.
