Carnegie meeting of G8 Science Ministers

The Carnegie meetings were started by the Carnegie Commission in 1991, as an opportunity for science ministers and advisers of the G8 countries to meet informally, without officials. These meetings enable countries to develop a closer working relationship, to increase their understanding of various national perspectives, and to exchange views on science issues.

The meetings are held twice a year generally in June and December, and are hosted on a rotating basis between participants.
