The Community General Export Authorisation (CGEA) is the European Community equivalent of the system of Open General Export Licences (OGELs) issued under UK law.
As with OGELs, although the CGEA allows the export of specified dual-use items to listed destinations by any exporter, providing the conditions are met, unlike OGELs, the CGEA is not issued by a national authority (ie the UK), but is published as Annex II of the Council Regulation (EC) No 1334/2000.
Exporters established in the UK must register with the Export Control Organisation before they make use of the CGEA.
Click in the right hand column for the Community Authorisation and the associated CGEA Guidance which also has details on how to register.
