Export Controls: “Military Helmets”: Revision of Rating Procedures, 4 April 2005

The Department of Trade and Industry has revised its procedures for rating items such as “military helmets” controlled under entry ML13.c of the Export of Goods, Transfer of Technology and Provision of Technical Assistance (Control) Order 2003.

The interpretation of ML13.c will also now include any other type of helmet specially designed to provide ballistic or fragmentation protection. This means that from 4 April 2005 licences will be required under ML13.c for helmets meeting this description.
