Guidelines on Scientific Analysis in Policy Making

Starting Date: 13-05-05

Closing Date: 12-08-05

This is a consultation by the Government Chief Scientific Adviser which seeks views on the update of the Government Chief Scientific Adviser’s Guidelines. The Guidelines were last revised in July 2000 and need to reflect the developments in policy making best  practice in the intervening years (such as improvements to risk management and public engagement).  The Guidelines also seek to highlight further the need for analysts and policy makers to be explicit about the level of uncertainty surrounding the evidence they  intend to present to policy makers.
