The results of the competition were announced on 1 October 2007: The National winner of Enterprising Britain 2007 is the North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone.
The National runner-up this year is The Paper Trail, Apsley
Croydon Enterprise and Irvinestown Trustee Enterprise Company Ltd have both been highly commended.
North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone and the Paper Trail will now represent the UK in the European Enterprise Awards.
Enterprising Britain 2007 – BERR’s search to find the most enterprising town, place, city or area in the UK – was launched on 29 January 2007.
The overall winner can be anything, from a town that has introduced specific ways of reducing unemployment in the area, to an individual project which has gone back to basics and implemented an innovative enterprise strategy to overcome a challenge.
Enterprising Britain is run in two phases: a regional stage and a national competition.
