The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (2007- )

2007
The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform was formed in June from part of the former Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Better Regulation Executive (BRE) from the Cabinet Office and the Regional Economic Performance Unit from the Department for Communities & Local Government (DCLG).

2008
In March the Construction Statistics section in Bristol was transferred to the Office of National Statistics. In April the Defence & Security Organisation transferred from the MOD to join UKTI. In the reshuffle that took place on the 3rd October BERR’s Energy Group was transferred to the newly created Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to join the Climate Change Group that had formerly been part of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
