Donald Macrae

Donald Macrae was Director General for Law and Regulation in the Department for Food and Rural Affairs and a leading figure in Whitehall for developing and embedding the Better Regulation agenda. As a government lawyer of 32 years' experience (across nine departments), he has a deep understanding of regulation and policy at all levels. He served at Board level in two departments since 1998 and was very active in cross–Departmental initiatives and groups, including founding the Policy Reform Group in 2005.
