The Manufacturing, Materials and Environment Unit (MME) of BERR’s Enterprise and Business Group deals with a broad range of issues related to the Environmental Industries sector (see information below), Manufacturing, and the Materials and Engineering sectors.

The UK environmental industry is strong, well established and diverse, employing approximately 400,000 people in around 17,000 companies, with an estimated annual turnover of £25 billion.

Further background about the environmental good and services sector, including reports, market intelligence and definitions of the sector.

A “Hot Issues” newsletter is currently produced by MME highlighting the latest support and policy developments in UK and EU, including notice of consultations.
