DECC has collected and compiled estimates of gas consumption at regional (NUTS1) and local authority levels (NUTS4) using base data at meter point level from the re-structured gas distribution network.
In March 2008 this gas consumption dataset gained National Statistics status. This status applies to all data from 2005 onwards. Please note that the 2004 data are still classed as experimental.

The older series of regional (NUTS1) and local authority (NUTS4) level gas consumption estimates based on the National Grid's post code sales data from 2001 and 2004 (all experimental) are also available below:
