Science & Innovation Analysis (SIA)

Based in London, SIA, is an interdisciplinary unit of Economists, Statisticians, Scientists and Engineers within the newly reorganised Science and Innovation Group of DIUS.

The Unit is made up of two groups who work closely together:

Assessment Unit who are responsible for ex post evaluation of Innovation and Technology support programmes, provide advice on the formulation of new programmes.

Economists and Statisticians who provide professional advice on Science, Technology and Innovation and provide a professional input to the work of the Assessment Unit.

The Director of SIA is Mark Beatson who has overall responsibility for the work of SIA and its staff.

Ray Lambert is the Deputy Director of SIA and assists the Director in his management role as well as having responsibility for specific areas of work.
