Export Licences: UK Government Licensing Performance Statistics 2006

The Export Control Organisation meets its key performance targets for the fourth successive year and achieves record performance in processing SIELs and OIELs.

81% of SIELS and SITCLs were finalised within the 20 working day target for SIELs (up from 73% last year) - our previous highest being 79% in 2004. 99% of cases were completed in 60 working days - up from 98% last year. Median processing times have reduced to 11 days for all cases, 10 days for cases within target and 29 days for cases outside of target - down from 14, 11 and 30 last year. The number of long-outstanding cases were at record lows for both SIELs and OIELs

OIELs performance rose from 62% last year and 64% in 2004 to 74% this year - this again is a record performance.

This year was our first full year of our new appeal targets of 60% in 20 working days and 95% in 60 working days and we achieved 58% and 88% respectively.
