EC Regulation on Products used for Capital Punishment and Torture: Channel Islands amendment, 23 August 2006

The Department of Trade and Industry has made an amendment to the Export Of Goods, Transfer Of Technology And Provision Of Technical Assistance (Control) Order 2003 ("The 2003 Order") and The Trade In Goods (Control) Order 2003 ("The Trade Order") 2003 Order.  The relevant amendments are contained in:

  • The Export Control (Amendment) Order 2006 (S.I.2006 No2271)

The amending Order came into force on 23 August  2006.

This amending Order corrects an omission in the 2003 Order by re-imposing national controls on the export and transhipment of certain goods to the Channel Islands. The opportunity has also been taken to clarify that certain trade control exclusions for EU Member States equally apply to the Channel Islands.
