Fuel Poverty Advisory Group: Work Plan 2007

Below are the proposals for the group's work plan for 2007:

  • Resources for fuel poverty (CSR, EEC, Decent Homes)
  • Progress on fuel poverty in White Paper and especially in any Energy legislation
  • Fuel poverty targets - PSA and related targets and statutory targets
  • Prices for customers - ensure that they are as low as possible in particular retail prices to fall as wholesale prices fall and charges for transmission/distribution to be as low as possible
  • Prices for low income customers - low cost payment methods for low income customers, especially further work on low cost prepayment meters; Post Office deductions, and social tariffs
  • Progress on targeting of customers for expensive measures and social tariffs
  • Programmes for non-mainstream measures in low income homes
  • Secure fuel poverty in Local Government Performance Framework and in Local Area Agreements and work on potential actions by LAs
  • Gas Network Extensions
  • Energy efficiency standards in social sector and housing targets
  • Data provision from DWP and LAs
  • Benefit Entitlement checks
  • Supplier obligations and fuel poverty
  • Government Business Plan for fuel poverty
  • Future of Group from April 2008
