PSA Target 12. Achieve value for money improvements of 2.5% a year across the department as measured by a basket of indicators.
This will be measured by reference to a number of indicators, to be identified by the Departmental business plan for 2003-06, which is due to be finalised in January 2003, and in the DTI’s agencies’ corporate plans. The approach will be published by March 2003.
Indicators of outcome/output will include measures of overall Departmental performance, which will feed into a Departmental scorecard; inputs will be measured principally by reference to Departmental expenditure.
In addition, a number of specific actions aimed at improving the efficiency of Departmental operations will be undertaken, and their progress will be tracked and reported against milestones.
