Two events - one week!

BEAMA held two successful events on 3rd & 7th November.

With thought provoking presentations on The Green Investment Challenge from Richard Morse, Partner at Matrix Corporate Capital and Social Media - The most impactful communication method since 1440 from Simon Allen at SocialBear.

On 7th November BEAMA held a joint Parliamentary Reception with Consumer Focus. Over 85 members and other stakeholders from government, associations, consumer groups and the media heard presentations on the 'Consumer and energy efficiency benefits of smart metering'. ESMIG, the European Smart Metering Association, (which BEAMA is a member of) had commisioned a worldwide review of smart meter pilots to identify the key factors in their success.

Jessica Stromback from VaasaETT, the author of the report presented the Report's key findings, Richard St Clair, Chair of the Smart Metering Association outlined how the UK Smart Meter rollout could achieve the same savings and Zoe McLeod from Consumer Focus discussed how the Energy Efficiency Benefits of Smart Metering could be realized for customers.

Finally Charles Hendry MP, Minister of State at DECC, welcomed the report and identified the relevant areas of value to DECC and other stakeholders.

Media coverage of the event has been good, within both consumer and trade titles. Read the news story here.
