Charter Review Publications

What you said about the BBC

On 20 July 2004 the Government published 'What You Said About the BBC'. This paper summarises the main points put to us during the public consultation and in the programme of survey research. It also includes views put to the Secretary of State and Andrew McIntosh from members of the media industry and the public during visits to different parts of the country. Finally it includes the views of children and young people given during a series of meetings held especially for them. It does not capture every single one of the many hundreds of issues raised, which is why we have published the reports of the research and consultation and the responses we received in full on this website.

The findings contained in this report will feed directly into the review of the BBC's Charter.
