ASEM Seminar on Regionalism vs Universalism in Global Order

The seminar "Regionalism vs. Universalism in Global Order" was an initiave by Polish government to create ASEM Diplomatic Academies Network that was proposed in May 2005 in Kyoto during ASEM Foreign Ministers' Meeting. It was attended by 42 participants from various ASEM countries who had the possibility to discuss very recent developments in the world: security issues, role of UN, and WTO negotiations, interfaith and intercultural dialog, as well as the role of universal human rights. The sixth Asia- Europe Meeting (ASEM6) was held in Helsinki on 10- 11 September 2006. The Summit was attended by the Heads of State and Government of thirteen Asian and twenty- five European nations and the President of the European Commission.
