Are you in year 9,10 or 11?
Come and have fun while you find out more about the Army – and all the challenges and excitement an Army career could have in store for you.

Students from all over the North East and Yorkshire are getting ready to come and meet real soldiers at the Army Careers Exhibition (ACE) 2010. Don’t miss it. Just like previous years it’s going to be an action-packed, interesting and entertaining three days – during which you’ll have the chance to learn more about Army life and Army careers from the people who’ve seen it, done it. The soldiers and officers themselves.

A solid career with recognised qualifications
You’ll meet highly trained professionals – eager to have a friendly chat with you and share their experiences. And they’ll tell you it’s not just about being a combat soldier. Today’s Army relies on a wider range of skills than ever before – which is why we now offer even more opportunities: vehicle mechanics, plumbers, engineers, musicians, electricians, clerks, medics, nurses, IT professionals, tank crews, chefs, HGV drivers, police, postal workers, intelligence operatives… and much more.

Over 140 career options to choose from
With so many careers paths, you could get paid to gain qualifications recognised by civilian employers – giving you the skills and confidence that could set you up for life. So come along and find out more from our interactive and observational Army activities.

    Taste for adventure?
Soldiers at over 90 stands will tell you about the challenges they’ve faced during Army training – as well as exciting times during adventurous training exercises; learning activities such as skiing, climbing, parachuting and scuba diving in countries such as Canada, Norway, Belize, Australia, Cyprus – and many others.

Be a part of the action
You’ll also get to see various display teams going through their paces. You can test your skills and your fitness on a range of kit and equipment including Army mini bikes, an aerial ropeway slide, the laser dome, obstacle courses – even a music workshop shop for budding musicians!

ACE is a fantastic opportunity to get a real taste of Army life and careers. And a fun way to find out about everything from bursaries to sports sponsorship – which could mean a great deal of financial help towards your future.

    ACE is for teachers too…
ACE organiser, Lieutenant Colonel Richard Preece Commander Regional Recruiting for the North East and Yorkshire, says: With 140 careers to choose from the Army Careers Exhibition offers a full insight into the range of exciting jobs in the Army as well as providing advice on personal development and motivational techniques in order to succeed. Teachers will also have the chance to learn more about the curriculum support the Army offers schools such as citizen training.”

    …and the general public
If you’re a member of the public, you can also get the chance to experience Army life first hand as part of the Catterick Garrison Open Day. Come along and chat with the soldiers and see all the demonstrations and activities. Admission is free.
