Leeds
Please don’t hesitate to pop in to the Leeds office for a chat – it might seem daunting, but we’re all very understanding.
Soldiers like Warrant Officer Class 2 Stephen Harriman will soon put you at ease. Stephen made his mind up about joining the Army while in the Army Cadet Force. Having experienced some of the challenges, excitement and adventure first hand, he wanted a lot more of the same. That was 34 years ago. And in that time, while rising through the ranks, Stephen says he’s enjoyed a great lifestyle with lots of variety and overseas adventure – and made mates for life.
When you get here
We wear uniforms in the office but apart from that it’s very informal. Work clothes or jeans and trainers, we don’t care what you wear. The important thing is getting to know a bit about you. One of us will sit down with you and just have a chat about your life and the things you’d like to do. To find out if the Army is right for you, we’ll give you an idea of all the jobs you might want to look at – anything from chefs to tank crewmen, nurses to vehicle mechanics, electricians and much more – and give you a feel for Army life.
Ask us anything
Most people ask us a bout the fitness and training side of things, what the career prospects are like, operations, the money and where you’ll live. Don’t be afraid to ask.
What happens next?
We’ll give you loads to think about after your first meeting, and you’re welcome to pop back any time. Then, if you want to take it further, we’ll weigh and measure you to check your Body Mass Index (BMI). Then arrange a formal interview for you and give you an Army Contact form, an Army DVD and your application pack to take away. We can also arrange your British Army Recruitment Battery (BARB) test.
Get the most from your meeting
