Barnsley

There’s really no need to feel nervous about walking into our office – we’re all very approachable, so please pop in for a chat. Our team have many years experience between them – so you could say they are fairly well qualified to tell you what the Army’s all about. Our team have decades of experience under their belts and are only too willing to share it with you.

When you get here
We wear our uniforms in the office – but it doesn’t matter whether you turn up in your overalls or your jeans, just as long as you turn up! It’s all about getting to know a bit about you, so one of us will just have a chat about what you like doing and what you’re good at.

Obviously, you want to know if the Army is right for you – and we’ll help you find out by telling you about the different types of jobs you could do: it could be anything from chef to tank crewmen, nurse or vehicle mechanics, electricians and so on. There are plenty of opportunities.

Ask us anything
Usually, our visitors want to know about the fitness and training it takes to get into the Army. Then what the career prospects are, travel opportunities and the pay. Just ask us – that’s what we’re here for.

What happens next?
Your first chat should leave you with plenty to think about – and you can always come in again if you want to. If you do decide to take it further, we’ll weigh and measure you to check your Body Mass Index (BMI). Then arrange a formal interview for you and give you an Army Contact form, an Army DVD and your application pack to take away. We can also arrange your British Army Recruitment Battery (BARB) test.
