YORKSHIRE MARCHES (25th JULY- 4th AUGUST 2006)

The Regiment visited most of its former Freedom Boroughs and Cities to request they transfer their Freedom Honours from the antecedent regiments to The Yorkshire Regiment.  At each ceremony, the Borough was presented with a transfer request and a framed plaque containing the Regimental Cap Badge by a senior representative of the Regiment.  The ceremonies took place between Monday 24th July and Friday 4th August and were a great success.  Now we wait for the Boroughs to grant us their freedom... more news to follow.

Monday 24th July - York, Tuesday 25th July (am) - Harrogate, Tuesday 25th July (pm) - Richmond, Wednesday 26th July - Leeds . Wednesday 26th July - Huddersfield (Kirklees)
