 On the 1st September 2007, 3 Regiments from the Prince of Wales Division and parts of 3 Territorial Army Regiments formed The Mercian Regiment, these Regiments were - 1st Bn The 22nd (CHESHIRE) Regiment, 1st Bn The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment, 1st Bn The Staffordshire Regiment,  The West Midland Regiment (V)  plus elements of The Kings Cheshire Regiment (V) and The East of England Regiment (V) .  The 4th Battalion The Mercian Regiment is the Territorial Army (TA) Battalion of The Mercian Regiment.
The TA provides a unique opportunity for you to play your part in a whole new world of adventure, challenge and achievement while sustaining your day job.  You will be joining one of the most respected armies in the world of which the TA provide about one quarter of the British Army's capacity. As a TA Infantry Battalion the main stay of the unit is the Infantry fighting soldier, but we also recruit for many specialist jobs with TA centres across the centre of England, we are
