QUALIFICATIONS

 

The Army is recognized as providing some of the best training and personal development in the world.  Up to 40% of a career can be spent training in one form or another and much of this is used to provide civilian qualifications.

 

There are number of qualifications you will be able to go for in the Infantry. Within your first three years these will be at Level 2 and as your career develops you will have opportunities to progress up all the levels. To begin with you will acquire basic skills related qualifications such as Security Guarding and Distribution and Warehousing progressing through Team Leading, Training and Development and Management; so that by the time you leave you will be able to show that you have worthwhile skills for future employment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

Medical notes: Applicants will be required to pass a medical examination at the Recruit Selection Centre and within the first six days of training.

 

Mandatory qualifications: No formal academic qualifications are required. However minimum standards or literacy and numeracy are required.

 

Personal qualities: Applicants will need to display both mental and physical potential and, through a series of tests, their ability to successfully complete the training.

 

Minimum length of service: 4 years after completion of training or from the age of 18.
