Wherever they serve, soldiers need and receive the ministry of clergy who are commissioned as chaplains. This is no less true for the TA. Clergy are appointed with the support of the major denominations and are asked to serve for a minimum of 19 days a year; they are attached to the larger TA Units to whom they minister and with whom they train, and they may also be used as a general reserve.
