15 (North East Brigade) Regional Training Centre is responsible for training Territorial Army (TA) soldiers in the North East on a variety of courses that are held centrally at Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall, York.
The courses we deliver include:
- TA Recruit Selection Weekends; where potential TA soldiers are assessed on there suitability for the TA.
- TA Phase 1 Training where TA soldiers are trained in all the initial military skills required to be a TA soldier. These are delivered over 6 weekends for non infantry and 9 weekends for infantry.
- TA Potential Officer course that are delivered over weekends which develop the TA soldiers leadership skills in preparation for the TA Commissioning Course that is held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
It also delivers a variety of military courses over weekends that increase the knowledge and skills of the TA soldier such as:
- Skill at Arms
- Map Reading
- First Aid
- Defence Instructional Techniques
- HAZMAT
- Physical Training
- Military Engineering
These course are primarily ran for TA soldiers but Regular soldiers will be excepted if places are available.
The Regional Training Centre is a very busy and consequently is always on the look out for TA instructors to be posted in to assist with delivery of training.
