OPERATIONS AND PRE-TOUR TRAINING

  The Battalion has recently returned from an extremely testing opeartional tour in Iraq.  Op Telic 9 took place between October 06 - May 07 and the Officers and Soldiers of the Battalion perfromed with great skill and professionalism like STAFFORDS have done for over 300 years.  This was the last tour the Battalion will seave on as the The 1st Battalion The Staffordshire Regiment before it becomes The 3rd Battalion The Mercian Regiment (STAFFORDS).  For more information about this tour click here... or go to Battalion news. 

The Battalion has now entered a period of recovery before begining to aid the remainder of the British Army Train by becoming the Land Warfare Battlegroup.  This role will hopefully provide a period of stability and training, before the Battalion is once again considered for another operational tour in around two or so years.
